A fashion design contest to entertain children isolated by the coronavirus

Spanish businesswoman Olga IF has launched a Fashion design competition to entertain children between 6 and 17 years old during the isolation days in order to reduce infections by coronavirus.

The initiative arises from the numerous requests that have been received from families with children who have to be isolated by the coronavirus and from requests from parents of children who have been unable to participate for one reason or another in the previous edition of the contest. @MaestroKidofficial, with the slogan “Mom I want to be a Fashion designer!”, an opportunity to show the world the talent of children and young people for Fashion creations.

After the closure of the school activity throughout Spain, Olga IF launches the Maestro Kid contest again, convening two age groups: the one between 6 and 12 years old, and the one corresponding to children from 12 to 17 years old.
The contest consists of sending drawings and/or videos in which the designs will be shown, specifying the inspiration for the works. Also, the contestants are invited to cut their patterns and create the design that they have captured in the drawing.

Between fifteen and twenty drawings will be selected by a jury of personalities linked to the world of fashion such as the creative director Maison Mesa, the fashion journalist Pedro Mansilla, the designer María Lafuente, the deputy director of the Madrid Center for Fashion Design the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Mercedes Rodríguez, director of Communication for the Orfila and Heritage Hotels, Madrid, Mencía de Morales, journalist and communication consultant, Ricardo Martín, director of Al Dedal, sewing workshop, Lola Piña, Isabel Soto sculptor, Laura Luceño Casals, Institutional Relations of the CSDMM and the Equality Unit of the UPM and OLGA IF President of the jury.

After the selection of the finalist sketches, the fabrics will be provided, the patterns and pattern designs will be made and the finalist garments will be made free of charge.
In these weeks of forced seclusion, children and young people are sure to constantly use social networks, so they are also invited to immortalize their moments of the creation of Fashion designs and send the videos and photos for broadcast on @maestrokidofficial

Finally, Olga IF offers to give sewing classes to the children and teenagers participating in the contest through Facebook.
