In light of the pandemic, there is an interesting collaboration happening between two creative individuals ie, Abhishek Dutta (the designer) and Livia Dudouit (the artist) living in different worlds apart and on different continents to create a unique collection for the latest season.
In this new era of the “new normal”, the collection signifies the silver lining. The brightness and how we actually celebrate the heritage in terms of our culture, and architecture are reflected in our collection. Bright hues, transparency is very much required in this new generation of individuals and it has been the key look for the Spring Summer 2021 collection. Handwoven fabrics from chanderi to linen that has given a work opportunity to our weavers who have suffered intensively in this difficult situation. The cuts and silhouettes are global and signify a relaxing mode. Oversized garments, flowy silhouettes, and feminine cut in contrast to the structured jackets which have been teamed up to give a fresh yet layered look. A lot of intricate hand embroidery like Thread work, Zardozi, and Sequin’s work has been used to recreate monuments from both countries, and interesting 3d placements are done in this whole collection.
Abhishek has also done a showcasing recently and did an amazing shoot with this collection at Chandannagar.
